Murder strikes close to homefor a new K-9 unit in BrooklynWhen a double homicide is strikingly familiar to a twenty-year-old cold case, Officer Nate Slater is rattled by the parallels. With a child as the only witness, he and his K-9 partner must protect little Lucy and her aunt, Willow Emery. Nate’s rough past means he always keeps an emotional distance… but in this case getting closer is the only way they’ll all survive.
Copycat Killer I have enjoyed reading the first book in a new series of True Blue K 9 Unit Brooklyn. I was so engrossed in reading it that I had to finish reading it before I could put it down, I can't wait to read the next book in this series. I would recommend it to anyone who has been reading about the different K9 Unit Series.
The K9 These stories keep you on the edge of your seat .Good story line believable and gripping .Can't wait to read next one.
Good value for money We enjoy reading these.
Great Start to a Series This book was very well written. Copycat Killer is the 1st book of a 9 book series. You need to read from the beginning of the series, because if you don't, you will miss a lot of critical information. IN FACT, you should read the entire True Blue K-9 Unit series that was published in 2019 BEFORE reading any of these. Both sets of series occur in New York: True Blue K-9 Unit happens in Queens, New York and True Blue K-9 Unit series occurs in, well, Brooklyn, New York. The Brooklyn series makes mention of some of the stuff that went on in the 1st series. Also, there was a prequel to the 1st set of books, titled Shield of Protection by Dana Mentink; followed by books 1-9: Justice Mission by Lynette Eason, Act of Valor by Dana Mentink, Blind Trust by Laura Scott, Deep Undercover by Lenora Worth, Seeking the Truth by Terri Reed, Trail of Danger by Valerie Hansen, Courage Under Fire by Sharon Dunn, Sworn to Protect by Shirlee McCoy, and True Blue K-9 Unit Christmas (2 novellas) by Laura Scott and Maggie K. Black. THEN start reading the True Blue K-9 Unit: Brooklyn series of 2020. As far as I know, there is no prequel to the 2020 series, so you would begin with Copycat Killer by Laura Scott, Chasing Secrets by Heather Woodhaven, Deadly Connection by Lenora Worth, and Explosive Situation by Terri Reed. There is an error on the Kindle edition AFTER you finish reading Explosive Situation. It says the next book is about Belle Monterra; however, that book is either the 2nd or 3rd of the series, not the 5th. Continuing with the Brooklyn series, book 5 will be Tracking a Kidnapper by Valerie Hansen (publication date August 1, 2020); Scene of the Crime by Sharon Dunn (pub. September 1, 2020); Cold Case Pursuit by Dana Mentink (pub. October 1, 2020); Delayed Justice by Shirlee McCoy (pub. November 1, 2020); and True Blue K-9 Unit: Brooklyn Christmas (2 novellas) by Laura Scott and Maggie K. Black. It really is important to read all of these books in chronological order because of the storyline throughout. The killer of the first set is not found out until the next to the last book in the series. Good reading, y'all! Barbara Kelley
Non-Stop Action I really enjoy the K-9 series. Someone has killed Willow's brother and his wife, leaving her niece Lucy an orphan. What's strange is this murder is exactly the same as one that happened 20 years ago. The killer in that 20 year old case was never caught. K-9 officer Nate has been assigned to protect Willow and her niece. Nate is trying to keep his feelings professional, but Willow and Lucy gradually work their way into his heart. He keep telling himself he is not meant to be a husband and father. Willow is a believer, he's not. Nate keep saying God was not there when he needed him. God was always there waiting on Nate. This book has murder, burglary, attempted murder, kidnapping and a HEA for Nate, Willow and Lucy. Plus a few twist and turns. 😉😉😉
Fast great read Amazing read. I fell in love with the characters and can’t wait for the next book where we learn about another of the K-9 unit. Highly recommend the book and the whole series.
K-9 This was a very well written book by Laura Scott and I enjoyed reading it very much. A Young woman, a niece, a brother and sister-in-law death, a cop and his K-9 partner, trying to find answers, 20 year old cold case, going home, cop and K-9 protection, quitting job, a photographer,, studying pictures, suspicion, talking to manager, very suspicious of him, trying to kidnapped her, saved, other suspicions and deaths, and so much more. How will this end? Will there be a happy ever after? I would recommend this book to everyone. Buy the book and enjoy reading it.
Copycat Killer Copycat Killer is an enjoyable clean, easy to read suspense novel with relatable characters, an intriguing story line around true heroes and their K9 partners. Easily read as a standalone novel but with enough questions left unanswered to tie into the rest of the series to come.
Easy read, compelling. The title had little to do with the story. There was no resolution to the original crime. Lucy’s parents were killed and done possibly by a copycat killer and much discussion was made about Lucy’s parents troubled life, however, this story was about Willow and the police officer and K-9. Is the rest of the story in future books? A little frustrating, but I did enjoy the story.
WOW!!!!! This is a really good book. It has all the ingredients that make a good mystery and romance. The author is very good at keeping a tidbit of knowledge hidden until the book is almost done and then she will include that tidbit of information out and the the story up in a neat package!!!
