Confessions from a non-golfer in transition First let me confess that I’m not really a golfer (yet) unless you count miniature golf when young and time spent on the driving range about ten years ago. The title of this book intrigued me. What does golf have to do with unicorns? That and the number of pages sealed the deal for someone who has not yet been fully infected with the golf bug. I found this book to be concise, focused and to the point. This is the way I like all ‘how-to’ books to read. The book gave me just enough information to adequately digest in one sitting. Knowing that a straight shot is like ‘finding a unicorn’ - even for the pros - takes the pressure off and makes the sport sound more appealing to me. I’m actually thinking about revisiting the driving range to experiment with ‘toe flare’ just to see what happens. I also appreciate the author’s sense of humor with the link to the Honeymooners golf scene in lesson 3 about “addressing the ball”. A pleasant bonus!
Most Helpful Book I've Read on Golf Brad's ability to explain complex information in a manner that makes sense to me is impressive. I've never understood much of what he was able to explain clearly. I reread other instructions I've never known were important or that were completely new to me. I now have renewed confidence that I can improve and become more consistent in my golf game. I am looking forward to the remaining lessons.
Making You Think In this book, Brad clearly explains the components of the golf club, the grip, the stance and ball position, which even beginner golfers take for granted. By walking the reader through these steps, I couldn't help but examine my mindset and look for my own shortcomings. Very helpful and worthwhile.
