It’s packed with realistic exam-style questions for the entire course - with worked answers at the back. Every question is labelled with a grade range on the 9-1 scale, so it’s easy for students to focus practice on the difficulty level that suits them best.
always rate Cgp books! will be very handy for home educating my two sons. CGP are front runners in these types of books in my opinion. Arrived promptly and well packaged in hard cardboard envelope. Would highly recommend, and not just to home educators, these are ideal as an addition to any child's learning
Fast delivery Got it to help daughter with gcse
Four Stars good.
A great add on to the CGP Physics revision guide - really useful The CGP stuff is great. This book goes very well with the CGP revision guides which I have reviewed on Amazon already. The revision guides are well presented with fun jokes and a more light hearted attitude, this book is a bit more serious. It breaks the questions into 2 discrete sections. Section 2 is a set of 2 complete 2 hour papers, mocked up to look like Edexcel chemistry GCSE papers. This is useful as it has quite a detailed marking scheme allowing you to really see where you went wrong. Section one is topic based and gives questions for each subtopic. Usefully, it grades the questions as to whether they are for grades 3-4, 4-6, 6-7 or 7-9 students. This is really helpful in gauging progress. The questions are arguably a little easy anyway but I really like the style and think, for my GCSE daughter, this book is being invaluable to make sure she has truly mastered the understanding of a topic. I have reviewed the biology book with exactly the same review as they are very similar. Excellent practice questions, again, arguably a bit on the easy side. The CGP books are a real treasure. This is quite a dry book but, as a self testing adjunct the the revision guide, at a very budget price, I would really recommend this
For the international syllabus of physics GCSE syllabus (not the ordinary UK version) New Grade 9-1 Edexcel International GCSE Physics: Exam Practice Workbook (includes Answers) (CGP IGCSE 9-1 Revision) Please note: this is not the ordinary GCSE syllabus used in the UK but the UK version of GCSEs adapted for use in international schools. If you are studying GCSE physics with the Edexcel Internation syllabus, this book from established publisher CGP contains a variety of different types of questions to help prepare you for your exam. Eight separate topic areas are covered, as well as two practice, together with 20 pages of answers at the back of the book. It is a useful additional aid to help you achieve your best grade - though won't replace the need for thorough study and revision. For sale at the time of writing this review at £6.52 (RRP £6.95).
Practice to test the level The best way to train for the exams - once the course books have been read and revision has progressed - is to practice, practice, practice and these workbooks from CGP have realistic questions (according to teacher friends) and they are an excellent way for the student to find out how well they know their stuff and if there are areas that requires further study. It also helps time-keeping if the students have been through more questions and know approx. how long they spend. The answers and marking guide at the back are useful to understand where focus should lie and also what kind of questions count more. I’m sure the students would have been given tests during the school year and it’s important they revise their notes and old tests to see the teacher comments and also to ensure they have the right terminology etc. as per course books, lessons and practice papers, but these ones may well provide a bit more assistance before the big exam.
Good workbook This is basically the old book but tweaked so that the sections and chapters match the new 9-1 grade syllabus. Most of the questions also have grading so a student can see what is a grade 9 (high level, complex) question and which are easier grade 4 questions (old C grade). As always the questions are printed well spaced out on bright white paper - so it looks less threatening than densely packed textbook questions. Thankfully, CGP have put the answers in the back of the book (not in a seperate publication or hidden on a teacher code only website). It also comes with a set (paper 1 and 2) of practice exam papers. There could be more questions on each topic for the money and so it does not replace in any way doing the questions in the textbook and past papers but is a useful revision tool or could be used as homework or omgoing practice to consolidate learning.
Well written revision guide This is an A4 sized soft backed book. Black and white with 20 odd pages of the all important answers at the back. Please note that this is an “International GCSE Revision and Practice book” so not for the UK version of the Physics exam. Being a practice book the student will need to use with study notes and or a text book. There are 8 physics topic included. Lots of exam style questions. Plus example whole tests. Well written with a clear type face. Like all CGP books this is excellent and will help any student with their studies
Excellent exam practice workbook This is an excellent exam practice workbook for GCSE physics (international version of the exam). The book contains sections on forces and motion, electricity, waves, energy resources and energy transfer, solids liquids and gases, magnetism and electromagnetism, radioactivity and particles, and astrophysics. The book is well laid out with plenty of room to write your answers. The answers section is very detailed and contains explanations as well as the answers.
