The Blue Rose is a magazine dedicated to the television show Twin Peaks created by Mark Frost and David Lynch. A perfect read for fans of David Lynch, Twin Peaks and television.Issue #12 is the Black & White Issue. It focuses on Part 8 and David Lynch's use of Black and White in his films. We also go to the dark side and light side of Season 3. Brad Dukes (Reflections: An Oral History of Twin Peaks) writes a critical response to Season of 3 of Twin Peaks. He was a super fan of the series for 25 years...then Season 3 happened. He takes an emotional look at what he sees in the 18 Parts of Season 3. On the flip side (it is the Black and White Issue) Matt Marrone writes "In Defense of Dougie" and talks about how great Season 3 is. We have a special contributor that pays tribute to the late Linda Porter (Mrs. Jackpot in Season 3). Executive Producer of Twin Peaks, Sabrina Sutherland writes the Message from the Log about working with Linda Porter.Scott Ryan covers the Twin Peaks UK Festival 2019 and interviews Kenneth C. Welsh about playing Windom Earle and staring on Lodge 49.Courtenay Stallings interviews Duwayne Dunham who edited Wild At Heart, Twin Peaks and Return of The Jedi. He talks about the differences between working with David Lynch and George Lucas. He also talks about editing some of the trickier scenes in Season 3.John Thorne writes about Judy, the evil in Season 3, in his latest full blown essay for the Blue Rose.Sartaj Singh writes his first piece for the Blue Rose and he covers Lynch's artistic work where Lynch used Black and White as his color scheme. He covers movies, television and painting. We pay tribute to Robert Forster with a special Back cover piece of art.
A stand-out issue Those familiar with Blue Rose magazine -- or its predecessor, Wrapped in Plastic -- will know the love, care and thoughtfulness that goes into every issue. This one has several excellent pieces, but the highlight is the superb interview with Duwayne Dunham. I'm tempted to quote some highlights, but I won't -- if you're interested in David Lynch or Twin Peaks, you should buy it.
TP treat Great mag for twin peaks fans.... Fantastic writing, artwork, the works.
